IRCTC Initiates Steps With North East To Boost Tourism

In Assam, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd, IRCTC, a PSU of Indian Railways, initiated major steps in collaboration with state government to boost up the tourism sector of the region.

Talking to newsmen in Guwahati this evening, senior official of IRCTC revealed that Budget hotels on Build Operate and Transfer model, Special train services and Tourism Facilitation Centre would come up soon. 

With five National Park and 18 Wildlife Sanctuaries, Assam is known as one of the most tourist after sought destination of the region. In a bid to attract more people to the region, IRCTC has decided to expand its facilities. The organization would set up 50 numbers of Tourism Facilitation Centre in the major cities of North-East where tourists would avail ticket booking and other services.

IRCTC would also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Assam government to provide better accommodations to domestic and foreign tourists.
