Marry Ann Gomes Bags Maiden National Title

Woman Grandmaster Mary Ann Gomes clinched her maiden national title after she drew her final-round game against Kiran Manisha Mohanty in the 38th National Women Premier Chess Championship that concluded in Chennai on on 9^th Nov.

Mary Ann Gomes’ superior tie-break gave her the maiden title and along with a winner’s purse of 75,000 Rupees, after she drew her final round game, taking her tally to 8 points.

Mary Ann Gomes was tied with International Master Eesha Karavade of Maharashtra on 8 points when the latter scored a last-gasp victory over Woman Grandmaster Padmini Rout of Orissa.
