Sumanta Kumar Sets World Record Of Maximum Paddy Produce

In Bihar a farmer from Nalanda district, Sumanta Kumar, had reaped a harvest of 224 quintals of paddy in a hectare and set a world record.

China was earlier the world record holder of maximum yield with 190 quintals of paddy produce per hectare.

Sumanta Kumar opted SRI method of cultivation to produce paddy.

A team of agricultural scientists and experts led by the state in charge of National Food security Mission Krishna Murari visited Darveshpura under Katrisarai block of Nalanda district of the state to ascertain the highest produce of claimed by Sumanta Kumar.

They confirmed that the 224-quintal yield per hectare achieved by the Sumanta kumar is the highest ever.
