Fund Crunch Closes Wikileaks

Posted on : Nov 14,2011

The whistleblower website- WikiLeaks has announced the temporary stoppage of its work due to financial problems. The Website blamed US financial companies for the drastic move.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange made the announcement in London and vowed to fight back the economic blockade. His group also issued a statement saying it would stop publishing in order to focus on making money explaining that the blockade imposed by financial companies including Visa, MasterCard, Western Union and PayPal left it with no choice.

Assange says WikiLeaks is also taking legal action against the blockade. The U.S. companies took action when WikiLeaks released hundreds of thousands of classified documents lifted from the computer files of U.S. diplomatic and military operations.
