UP Encephalitis Death Toll Mounts To 376

In Uttar Pradesh, the death toll due to encephalitis has mounted to 376 in the eastern region this year as eight more patients succumbed to deadly disease in past two days. Official sources reports that 43 more patients of Japanese encephalitis and water borne encephalitis have been admitted to BRD Medical College Hospital of Gorakhpur during past two days.

The sources said, as many as 2480 patients of encephalitis have been admitted to various government hospitals in the eastern region this year. At present over 300 encephalitis patients are being treated at these hospitals.The state government has recently released 22 Crore rupees to undertake short and long term measures to control the disease.
