7 Lakh Pre Metric Scholarships For Minority Students

The Ministry of Minority Affairs has announced 7 lakh additional fresh Pre-Metric scholarships for minority communities’ students for the current financial Year. The earlier target of 27 lakh fresh scholarships has been revised to 34 lakh. According to an official release issued in New Delhi, government has allocated 600 crore rupees compared to last year's 375 crore rupees for this scheme. Government has decided on a community-wise breakup for scholarships.

For Muslims, there would be about 24 lakh, 80 thousand fresh scholarships while for Christians, the number would be about four lakh, thirty one thousand. There would be three lakh, 44 thousand fresh scholarships for Sikhs while for Buddhists, it would be one lakh, 42 thousand and one thousand, 176 for Parsis.
